I have always felt that a parent trying to give their kids a better life should be commended.

Ask anyone who has no problem with what is going on these two questions:

Think about if you were born into poverty and wanted a good life for your kids and what you would do to make their lives better. Take a moment to really think about that.

If when you were thinking about this you decided you would do the same as someone from Mexico or Central America for your kids but think these people should be in jail and worse yet, their tiny children taken from them then you are a racist or just too dense to understand you contradict your own moral compass.

If when you were thinking about this but you decided you would not try to do everything in your power to give your kids a better life than these "illegal" immigrants, then they are simply much better parents than you are and care about their kids a lot more.

I agree, but this is more than that. Parents would not take their kids to travel lunamagica Jun 2018 #1

on top of a moving train just for the ideal of a better life. They are taking desperate measures because it's a fife-or-death situation. They are escaping unbearable violence. Foe many, they are saving their children from gang members who recruit kids, and you either comply, or die.

So as horrible as things are here, they feel that back there it would be even worse. They think it is better to be separated but alive, than to stay back and be murdered.
