My son isn't a scholar.

He's an average kid with a mild learning disability who asks me every day if we are closer to getting rid of Trump. I explain to him that it's a time-consuming process, yada-yada.

Tonight he heard the audiotape. He knows what is going on. He knows right from wrong. He told me he wants to punch Trump's lights out. He is hurting inside so badly for those kids, many are about his age. He really has a soft heart, a good heart. And once again, he makes me so proud.

I posted this, even without his name! Typical teenage guy thing, I guess. But I am so proud of him.

He's a special needs child and he's very sensitive to any suffering at all. My grandson wanted to save the ants that got into the house. When he's over, if he finds an ant in the house we relocate it outside.

There is no way we could explain any of this to him.

He is a sweet, gentle soul. He cried during the scene in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire when Harry was being chased by the dragon in the first task. He cried years later when Dobby died.

so he can tell them how it feels for him to see children in pain. Or would that be too traumatic? For me, it's cathartic.

Unfortunately, it's the good hearts that are the most vulnerable. I was like that as a youth, and now as a 70-Y.O. dad with more life experience than I ever asked for, I hope you can arm him with plenty of knowledge about the perils of life. Also teach him the art of self-reflection, as that's a tool that can save us in the worst of times.

I'm a highly sensitive person (HSP), and these are some of the most difficult times of my life. But, armed with some knowledge of what and who I am, I know I can struggle through it.

Best of luck and give him a big DU hug from all of us...... .......
