WTF is wrong with people? Last thing needed in this crisis is sympathy for abusers.

(54,405 posts)O'Keefe and friends. This is exactly the thing they like to do. Place it on someone else's website (or Twitter feed) and then point their fingers at us saying what monsters we are.
This is a Republican hit job, count on it.

(54,405 posts)They do this all the time. Occupy needs to remove this ASAP. I'm sure the Republican troublemaker who put it up there has long covered his track by now.

They have had enough time to take it down.
Twitter should have done so; but hasn't (after a dozen complaints)
That account continues to tweet, without any claim the account was hacked. You don't fight a $500,000 lawsuit over control of a twitter account and then just let it get hacked and say nothing.
(And, yeah, there was a $500,000 lawsuit over control of that account. https://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/18/nyregion/occupy-wall-streets-twitter-account-is-focus-of-lawsuit.html )
This is precisely the same sort of fantasy psychological defense mechanism one sees in the Alex Jones cult, in which any inconvenient fact is reflexively dismissed as fake.
This is also what happens when you put your trust in anonymous strangers who come out of nowhere.

(118,682 posts)Twitter for the original and alerted the mods on it. They left it up. I attack something awful like that on all fronts.

(54,405 posts)This smells of Republican dirty tricks tactics. They've been at this kind of thing since the campaign of 1968.

The Left can turn what is a manufactured humanitarian crisis into a political crisis for Trump and actually hold Democrats accountable. These are just a few ideas, feel free to add more below. And feel free to share this.

(9,114 posts)Non violence was right at the top. They didn't want rightwing infiltrators to start trouble or commit crimes.
Maybe this twitter account was never associated with OWS, or maybe some rightwing shithead got control of it.
It's not even a good gameplan or tactically reasonable action choreography. Cartoonishly out of touch with physical reality, and adds a horror movie component of gruesome violence.
