Another reason that I've also lost faith in the American dream is because of the very selfish actions of a very tiny proportion of the American population (republicans) who claim to enact new tax laws that big business needed desperately (which was a blatant lie) but instead, favored basically 1% of the their donors heavily while the rest of us have yet realized any benefits what-so-ever.

Also, it isn't enough, that illegal immigrants are the current target of republicans, but now, some groups of previous legal immigrants to this country are being subject to illegally being detained and deported, despite already being legal. In short, the constitutional rights of legal Americans are being violated.

No wonder white Neo Nazi favored the republican candidates this year. They both look and act so much alike that it is hard to separate the two apart. The current hatred and guile being propagated today by the republicans solely just to win elections and not really address any truly serious issue (they are manufacturing this (illegal immigration) as an 'issue' since they really can't come up w/ any serious issues in today's world on their own (B. Obama didn't leave them w/ any issues)).

I fear for the traveling American in the future (overseas) and the violence these travelers will face by an overseas audience. I fear seriously the long term damage that the reputation of this country now faces for at least a generation to come, all due to an overzealous and overwhelming desire to target and overly discriminate against a tiny % of people in this country.
