I propose this Democratic Campaign Message

We keep hearing that anti-Trump isn't good/effective messaging.

Given where we are and how quickly we're descending into authoritarianism, wouldn't a winning message simply be Pro-Democracy? Seriously. It's that stark of a contrast now.

A Pro-Democracy platform would cover defending the right to vote, ending gerrymandering, campaign finance reform, ending corporations' stranglehold over politics; in theory, a Democracy cares about the well-being of ALL people and the environment which sustains us.

PRO-DEMOCRACY vs Authoritarianism.

That's where we are.

Rather like married couples renewing their vows, we need to renew our commitment to Democracy.

(I realize we're a democratic republic, but hopefully you get my point re: the basic premise of democracy vs authoritarian regimes.)

I think voting rights can have resonance in State campaigns where the policies are being developed. House and Senate races need to focus on economic issues that voters are directly impacted by.

as I said -- do we want to be a Democracy or not, given what's currently manifesting which is anti-Democracy.

It's also easier for people to wrap their heads around.

But I hear you.
