I don't know how this works but I do believe the Florida National Guard serves the Governor. In Florida, I could see it happening for political reasons. Rich Scott would probably benefit greatly by doing something like this. Sorry. That's kind of how it has to be referenced when talking about Republicans.

He needs twitlers endorsement for his senate run. He will not rock this boat.

Scott will do what the PR tells him to do. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have Trump campaign for him outside of an email or two.

I would think that they should inspect any place where groups of kids are being held.

These are federally-funded facilities. What are they hiding from a senator? You're not seriously comparing these to other "verboten" federally-funded facilities like our torture sites, are you?

There are pretty strict rules regarding who can be admitted to a facility caring for children. Unless you have specific cause you can’t just demand entrance.

And that includes if your an elected official. Being a Senator doesn’t give you unlimited odd to go anywhere and everywhere.

And that’s a good thing- imagine if Rand Paul was allowed to drag his buddies from Brietbart and Infowars along as “press” and film inside one of these facilities.

I have, and the reports they make for the places are public record and on file in several states, including Texas.

I’ve posted the links here before.

They do find violations, but based on the record they correct them when pointed out. I compared it to other large child care facilities and their record or violations found seems not out of line for the size. I would be a lot more worried if they said they found no violations or the violations went uncorrected.
