Going through the desert, no food, putting them in the trunk of a stranger to drive through the desert, to get them to the border to drop them off, or when they are confronted by border patrol agents, they literally drop the kid and run the other way. In America, they’d be arrested for child abuse. In many respects, I think now after talking with this agent, these kids are in better hands in the hands of the federal government of the United States of America than they are in the hands of the people that were trying to bring them here and cross into America.

If you are willing to send your kid on a journey through the hot desert with a bunch of drug runners into the United States to break the law, maybe it’s better off that you’re separated from them. You clearly didn’t have their best interests in mind.
