I'm backing Brian Flynn who I had an extensive conversation with at our local Democratic committee meeting, but I am very positive about a number of our candidates. There are 7 people running, giving it everything they have, doing endless debates up and down our district and showing up seemingly everywhere.

Erin Collier was a late entry to the field, joining it at the very end of the allowable time window and missing some debates because of it. What little I know of her seems positive. I have to say though that I suspect that she looked at the fact that the other 6 candidates running, as it turned out, were all men and decided that gave her an opening. She has a thinner track record than some of the others. With a very divided field (all of the original candidates mustered strong grass roots backing) her gender alone might carry her to victory - given that the majority of voters most likely don't know much about any of the candidates, no matter how hard they have been campaigning.

I really wish we had some kind of run off system in place. It is quite possible that someone will win the primary with less than 30% of the vote.

I will whole heartedly support whoever wins the 19th. I want that seat back.

All of the candidates are terrific.
