Nikki Haley pulls the U.S. out of U.N. Human Rights Council calling it 'not worthy of its name'

Donald Trump's administration pulled the United States out of the United Nations Human Rights Council Tuesday, attacking the body as 'not worthy of its name'.

Nikki Haley, Trump's U.N. ambassador, launched the broadside at the State Department where she accused it of 'chronic bias against Israel'.

The announcement came just a day after the U.N. human rights chief, Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein, denounced the Trump administration for separating migrant children from their parents.

Speaking beside Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Haley said she that a year ago she made clear the U.S. would stay in the council only if 'essential reforms were achieved.'

It makes a perverse kind of sense - this administration would not know human rights if it jumped up and bit them on the oranges ones sizeable arse

of their parents and housing those children in cages.

Where some of those kids will never get to return to their parents but will be adopted out to American - most likely white "acceptable" - families. Francoist Spain did it - stole children and gave them to "acceptable" families. Pinochet's Chile did it - stole children and gave them to "acceptable" families . America did it before with the children of Native peoples.

Where the president of said country is using the language of hate to describe the parents, dehumanizing the parents in an attempt to justify their actions.

Calling them rapists and criminals - calling them an infestation - claiming their parents are child smugglers and human traffickers and that by removing the kids they are merely saving them. Saying they are potential gang members - and all of this simply because they have brown skin and Trump is playing on racism.

The UNHRC is kind of a joke.

To wit: their membership currently includes Cuba, DR Congo, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and a few other countries that are not exactly bastions of human rights (i.e. Venezuela).
