Just heard from @HHSGov again:

Of the 11,786 minors currently in the unaccompanied alien children program, 3,280 are female and 8,506 are male.

We still don’t have photos of or acces to any girls or toddlers.

What did I miss? These kids were unaccompanied? Since when? Weren’t they taken from parents and guardians? And we’re calling them “aliens” now? I’m reeling.

Unaccompanied means they entered without parents or relatives. Separated means they did. Two different things.

If the family applies for asylum at a port of entry they proceed as accompanied into the legal system as a family unit.

If the family applies for asylum outside of a port of entry the children are separated and the parents are entered into the regular application system for asylum serkers.

The children (who are now unaccompanied) are put into the office of refugees in HHS classified as unaccompanied and will have a separate legal path completely untethered from their parents.

from someone who works there. They make nothing, pay them enough and we get photos and video. Employer can't stop it. Like iPhones getting into prisons, pay enough then it appears.
