I guess in this country some care more about cage free chickens and eggs than they do about caged children.
Depressing and outrageous.
This is not who I thought we were as a country and I am disgusted it what we have become.

(102,290 posts)I am in the darkest of depression, despite spending hours the past several days calling, signing petitions, and writing letters to every congressman, Senator, Governor, "religious" leader, civil rights organization, and progressive group I could think of. I am not sleeping and frankly, getting nothing else done.
That doesn't stop me (nor will it ever stop me from) being concerned for animal welfare. It isn't either/or. In truth, it is those who feel most intensely protective toward the weakest among us--children, the elderly, the infirmed, the disabled... who likewise have those feelings for animals.
