They're threatening to impeach Rosenstein if they don't get the classified stuff they want.

That would set them up for a battle they couldn't win.

There's no way they'd get half the Democrats in the Senate on board -- and they can't convict without a 2/3 vote there.

And the only executive branch official who was ever impeached by the House was a secretary of war back in the 19th century, who was accused of graft and corruption. He was acquitted by the senate but voluntarily resigned. Nothing Rosenstein has done warrants impeachment - it's just an idle threat.

If he has done something so egregious that Republicans feel he must be impeached...why does their own president not fire him?
