To me the most disturbing thing to see come out of the immigration camps is this:

This picture of Trump propaganda on the walls of the detention centre. What they are doing is already on the border of a crime against humanity. It's horrifically cruel. Many of these children will be traumatized for life by no fault of their own. American immigration has ALWAYS been messy, involving a lot of legal AND illegal immigration. And both have for generations set up shop and made the new country they call home a better place.

America has also always been heavily divided on how to properly handle immigration. There have always been right wing elements that wanted to reign in immigration and deport people.

But this mural goes a step farther. This right there, in one image is fascism. This image of Trump isn't there to sell their harsh immigration policy to the American people. It's there to sell the cruelty being enacted as kindness to the victims. There are few places you see this kind of propaganda, and all of them are in dictatorships. Work camps, concentration camps. Be thankful the dear leader is feeding you. Be thankful the dear leader thinks of you.

Arbeit macht frei

Do I think they are liquidating people? No. Do I think they intend to? You know what's so insanely fucking terrifying?... I can't answer that last question with any certainty now. The right wing has always laughed in derision when we liken them to Nazis. Call them fascists. Where are the concentration camps they say. This is a democracy they say.

Well here are the camps. And the people in them are concentrated. I don't know what the next steps look like. Anyone who says they do is a fool.

Hitler didn't kill 6 million Jews overnight. It took years of slow gradual shifts. Each one fully democratic. Each time with the German people complicit, or shocked into a stooper because of the "surreality" of the situation.

No we aren't liquidating people. But so many of the "we aren't"s have fallen to the wayside in the past several years. And this mural of Trump and the phrase "sometimes by loosing the battle we find a new way to win the war" is a bone chilling thing to see. And a reminder to all of us that sometimes by losing the battles we lose the war.

In the book, Trump writes about how he tried to push the tenants of 100 Central Park South—a New York City building he bought in 1981—out of their rent-controlled and rent-protected apartments. His tactics caused him to be sued by the city.

I wonder about the 6 hours of education the school age children get what they are taught

Looks like it's a catch phrase he uses often. That actually makes it worse in a way. He's putting his personal stamp on what they are doing by repeating trite sayings he loves. Sounds like something from his own "Mao's little red book"
