Sen. Merkeley just explained what's wrong with Sen. Cruz's bill.

He says they set up "kangaroo courts." It only gives 14 days for people to get their documents from their home countries, which is setting them up for failure.

If the documents were mailed the same day as the request they still would not arrive in 14 days.

The disgrace has no limit.

Latin America to know that obtaining vital required documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc etc) is often a very tedious, painfully slow process requiring many trips to multiple government offices requiring PERSONAL PRESENCE (as well as quite a bit of money). He knows that hardly anyone would be able to meet the deadline. He's a real 14K bastard.
