John Lewis: History will not be kind to us if we continue to go down this road

Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) on Wednesday called for the Trump administration to end its controversial immigration policy that is separating children from parents when families are caught illegally crossing the border.

"Our nation is mourning. Our nation is crying out to save our little children. Save our babies,” Lewis said while addressing the House during the morning hour, where members are permitted to speak on any topic.

“History will not be kind to us as a nation and as a people if we continue to go down this road. We must stop the madness and stop it now,” he said.

Lewis was a key civil rights leader in the 1960s as chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee.

But please, please don't give him anything he wants, legislation to hurt them more with, or this tactic he's now using again will continue, and will get much worse , and encourage more hostage taking for his political gains. He should not in any way gain politically from this with any legislation, and let this outrage bring him to reverse the policy so he will be held accountable.
