Democrats can pull a Merrick Garland and say since the crisis Trump manufactured can be averted by EO, there is no rush and the next congress should decide how best to deal with any immigration detention changes.

Or scream PASS A CLEAN IMMIGRATION BILL at the top of their lungs at each and every opportunity.
