Asked what he thinks of people comparing ICE to Nazis, acting director Thomas Homan replied with the Nuremberg defense.
The acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Monday that comparing ICE agents to Nazis is unfair, because theyre simply enforcing laws enacted by Congress.
Thomas Homan employed the Nuremberg defense used by German Nazi officials in an attempt to escape accountability with the claim they were merely following orders.
Homan then followed up saying he wished those against the Trump administrations zero-tolerance policy would display outrage over crimes committed by undocumented immigrants employing less charitable language:

Republicans are still claiming to be the "Party of Lincoln" even though Abe would have kicked their butts for what they are doing to the country!

(23,974 posts)there are many ways ICE's behavior doesn't resemble Nazis, and relatively few ways that ICE's activities are legitimately comparable to Nazis, and he picks one of the resemblances as a defense? what a maroon!
he could have gone with "get back to me when we've killed a few hundred thousand people" or "so far, zero human skin lampshades" or something like that, but instead he falls back on "just following orders"? maybe he simply doesn't know what the Nazis actually did.
