Morrie Davis, former Gitmo prosecutor: I resigned. JAGs ordered to border should resign.

When I was an Air Force JAG and the Chief Prosecutor for the Military Commissions at Guantanamo and I was ordered to use evidence obtained by torture, I resigned. I hope JAGs ordered to go to the border to prosecute immigrant cases for @realDonaldTrump do the same.

To do any government non DOD work.

Even within the civilian world they cannot order government workers to do work outside their agency for other agencies. TSA officers, for example, that assist FEMA must be from volunteers.

and then go and prosecute immigrant parents who have been separated from their children...….makes me sick inside. Children are suffering long-term or life-long damage and these Jag's......how can they live with themselves and be part of that? .

And in my personal experience JAG lawyers are some of the finest in the law profession. If ever in a courtroom I would thank the maker to have one stand for me.

from their originating countries.

And these JAG lawyers aren't standing for the immigrants -- most of them won't have any lawyer at all. The JAGs are there for PROSECUTING them.

The JAG lawyers are the prosecutors; the fact that they are great at what they do is not comforting for the immigrants and children whom they will be prosecuting.

I, too, hope they will resign rather than comply with this, apparently, illegal order.

Seperating children from their families and sending them to 'detention facilities' is an ILLEGAL ORDER!
