General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsYou know this jacket will be the new red hat, right?
Deplorables will now go out of their way to snatch these up and where them with pride. Its a toned down version of the Fuck your feelings t-shirt you see at the presidents rallies.
If Democrats are asked about this, they should say:
Frankly, we have more pressing issues to discuss, as uncaring and tone deaf as it was.
Im agreeing with others, this is meant to trigger us and they are HOWLING with laughter. Dont fall for it.

(515 posts)amount of money that at and by this point Melania has taken care of herself financially. I'm no Melania fan or defender but we all know she is often disgusted by him...therefore, the jacket makes sense and it's also a fact that he does not give one shit about these kids.

(14,568 posts)Her nonverbals are she wants to throw acid in her face. She clearly despise. But she has never once said anything even remotely negative about him, it just is not believable in the least that she would wear a jacket like this taking a shot at him.
Either way this is a massive troll job, and our team would be wise to just flat-out ignore it.
Trek4Truth
(515 posts)her sneering and slapping him away etc. So this jacket thing would fit right in with that line of passive aggression that she is giving RUMP.

(10,036 posts)But actually if the coat was from Zara, a leader in "fast fashion", and retails for $40 as stated, I would not be surprised.

(11,876 posts)Zara is a Russian owned brand. Coincidence?
Someone else bought this and gave it to her to wear. Melanie does not shop Zara.
Someone else sought out this jacket and thought this was a good idea.

(14,167 posts)While I agree they are clearly trolling, I don't think it's a bad idea to react appropriately to dog whistling jackets or racists patronizing Mexican-food establishments. Republicans need to see and FEEL our anger. They need to know we will fight back and won't take this #hit like it's fine and dandy. Ignoring the trolling would not be the most effective response, IMO.
This may be part of what motivates that 2-3% who are completely disengaged in the political process to get off their asses and vote.
