Can you imagine what would happen if Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, etc had done that?

there'd have been pearl clutching scandal segments on every news show for weeks!
It's just that these folks currently crashing in the White House are always running news cycles with horror shows like this, just to fuqq with us. It feels like we're getting played to be sucked into speculations about Melania's "message".

2. I think this may push one hell of a lot of people AWAY from their defense of Melania

and send her "approval ratings" crashing. Every single media outlet has covered it, so I don't know how she can ignore saying something DIRECTLY about it. She comes off as every bit as callous as her a'hole husband.

So, in that, I do think it has relevance.

We are talking about a trashy ass flotus that would deliver her Marie Antoinette message to the world that she does not give one dayum about the children.

5. Melania's jacket sent the message she intended.

The message is that she doesn't care about the babies and children forcibly separated from their parents. To the Trumps and their followers, these refugees are non-people. They literally, actually don't care.

Melania's jacket was a message to the Trumps' white supremacist base. I'm sure that many well-off white suburban Trumpsters got a good laugh from Melania's jacket today. They were in on the joke.

It gets rid of threads discussing subjects I have no interest in. Cleans up GD for me quite nicely!

Would undercut the visit itself. The question remains—why?

She did it to piss off Donald or

She did it as an encoded message to the base “I’m doing this but don’t worry—we still don’t care”. Or

They really are that lax and unprofessional regarding protocols and symbolism.
