Between 14 and 8 years ago: Border Patrol agents shut down I-95 southbound in Maine.

I really want to run into one of these guys so I can tell him I'm a citizen of the United States of Go Fuck Yourself, Pig

Border Patrol agents shut down I-95 southbound in Maine. “If you want to continue down the road, then yes ma’am. We need to know what citizen — what country you’re a citizen of,” an agent said. This is insane.

Unfortunately it's totally legal. I wish it wasn't. But the courts have allowed a 100 mile zone for ICE to operate. It's really troubling and needs to change. But it will take a lot of work.

To avoid misunderstandings, I should make it clear that the occurrence of these incidents ranged between 14 and 8 years ago (ie. not under the Trump administration).

It was in the '82 and the BP setup a checkpoint North of the Keys before you get to the Florida mainland. It was posing off the touristsand locals, so the KeyWest mayor asked repeatedly for it to be removed.

The Key West mayor then declared independence from the US. They then declared war against the US Government and immediately surrendered and applied for foreign aid.

They still have some shenanigans and fun with the idea of it down there.

IMHO, it's as much about being able to search without probable cause as anything else. Linclon, NH and WRJ VT are popular spots, on I-93 and I-89.
