Poll: Trump is turbo-charging voter enthusiasm - for both parties

Voters in both parties are already fired up and ready to cast their ballots in November. Donald Trump is a big reason why.

Enthusiasm about the midterm elections is at its highest point in at least 20 years, buoyed by large numbers in both parties who say the president will be a major factor in their vote this fall.

A Pew Research Center survey released Wednesday shows far greater engagement in this year’s elections among both Democrats and Republicans than in the 2014 midterms. The Democratic wave is building: Voters who say they intend to support the Democratic candidate in their congressional district are far more enthusiastic than in the two midterm elections under President Barack Obama — they’re even more enthusiastic than at this point in the Democratic landslide year of 2006.

But this year's Democratic wave may be crashing against a well-fortified GOP wall. Enthusiasm among Republicans about voting is higher now than before almost every midterm election going back to 1994 — the only exception was June 2010, just before a GOP wave netted the party 63 seats and control of the House of Representatives.

“This is a different midterm than the ones in 2006, 2010 and 2014. In those midterms, you had one party that was more enthusiastic,” said Carroll Doherty, director of political research at the Pew Research Center. “In this current scenario, at least in this early data, you find high enthusiasm among both parties.”

anyone as much as Trump...the kids ripped from their parents arms finished it for me...I am now not even reasonable on the subject...I have gone after Trump supporters in twitter and ended up in twitter jail for a day or too...I never do that usually. I put political stuff on yfacebook. I never do that.

I can't take this shit any longer. Interment camps/prisons/detention centers holding children, taking them away from their parents, no health care for us, letting the rich take everything away from the non existent middle class, the republican party doesn't know how to govern and walk in lockstep with this POS.

they are transporting these kids in the night who the hell knows what kind of condition these babies/boys/the girls where are the girls that question still needs to be answered. We have tents and vacant walmarts being used???? They are letting noone in to see and why is that? Unspeakable things are happening, plus we have a POS tRump who spews hatred towards everyone and calls countries SH and calls people animals. And I want to see Stephen Miller gone, Sessions, these people need to be held accountable.

Then we have people in the background who are trying to help ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, Michael Avenatti, and possibly many more. We have reporters like on MSNBC who are deeply frustrated that they cannot see what is happening in these facilities and we have tents erected in the heat do you see any air conditioning units in those buildings. I am just shaking my head.
