Today’s House passage of the #2018FarmBill is a big deal. With our booming economy, there is no better time to close the skills gap, better equip our workforce, and encourage Americans to move from welfare to work. 🚜

House Republicans pass a farm bill that guts food assistance for working families
Two million people would be in jeopardy of losing their benefits.

The House of Representatives narrowly passed the farm bill Thursday afternoon 213-211, with 20 Republicans joining all Democrats in voting no.

The House version of the farm bill dramatically cuts funding for food stamps, officially known as Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP).

More than 1 million low-income households, totaling than 2 million people — particularly low-income working families — are in danger of losing their benefits altogether or have them reduced under the bill.

President Donald Trump tweeted after the vote that he was “so happy” to see work requirements included in the bill. Trump has stated previously he would veto any farm bill that neglected to impose tougher work requirements.

Having jobs for people that pay a living wage always and if mandate work for benefits we will have job programs in place to help. How do you trust republicans to do this? They would support building cruise ships with no life boats or life jackets and if it sinks, they would say learn to swim on your own. If you can't, it's your fault.

This would make a great TV commercial...with voice over on a sea of people from a sinking ship with no life boats.

The fucking gloves gotta come off

Is really telling the American people this is to help the wealthiest people in the country by paying the rich with windfall tax breaks, and robbing from the middle class and the poor to pay for it for them. Reverse robin hood. Over spend , then use it against us. Social Security also to be destroyed . Seniors better realize what these criminals are doing, and why they're lying about it.
