Ps. Hillary Clinton warned us about everything trumpf...from his abuse of women, to his failed businesses ...she warned us! When I hear her speak, read her comments.. I stop and listen and I think this woman would have been a compassionate president, like Obama--exceptional.. they are best of us. Instead we have this disgusting little man that .preys on those who have nothing in the world but the clothes on their backs, carrying their children in their arms, and risking their live in hopes of a better life. ..now he's holding their children, babies hostage as they cry for their mamita, papi--he is the worst of us. God help us all!

But I'll swim through raw sewage to vote for her against ANY Republican, any day, any time. She's not perfect, for gosh sakes, but she's super-competent and cares about America -- 2 traits Trump does not share.

I think the Left did not have its guard up in 2016 and was blind-sided by the enormous attraction Trump's callousness and racism had for millions of Americans. Honestly, most of us on the Left had no idea the vast numbers of outright White Supremacists and their satellites (the "I'm not a racist but" people) and how they gravitated to Trump like fleas to a mangy dog. And now you see them cheering him on at his rallies where he spews lies and hatred to cheering audiences who can't wait for a second term and even harsher actions against the blacks and browns. "MAWA" should be the slogan, and if Trump used it at a rally is there any doubt he would bring the house down with cheers and applause?

The fact that she and others are cognizant of the success a venomous but false narrative does not make HRC "toxic".

toxic (adjective)
1. poisonous.
2. relating to or caused by poison.
3. very bad, unpleasant, or harmful.

HRC is being "as helpful as one would like" in that she is active where her help has been sought, but refrains from imposing her presence where she might be a catalyst for virulence or propaganda. She is practiced in working to advance both her principles and the best interests of the Democratic party and platform.

just in general, it shows how effective gaslighting is, and gish galloping, and repeated messages.

We humans have some big time issues - and it is why we often get steered into the wrong directions.

We don't deal with complexity well - we become overwhelmed with too much information, much of it false.

I think most here knew by 9 PM on election night something was terribly wrong....because it was terribly criminal.

I hold out hope Mueller can dig into the belly of this crime and it can start the process of a remedy of some sort.

However, what to do about trump's fan club is really concerning - and the lack of action by repubs in congress who should be doing something is even more concerning.

Clearly, love of money, power and self - and fear of loss of those things - is driving everything these days.

We've lost our way.

for having the nerve to allow a black family to occupy the WH for 8yrs.

Hence the "burn and loot" attitude, (I'm assuming). The thing we never did that whole 8 years was address our country's racism problem. I naively thought we'd turned a corner, and rural whites would come to be endeared to the Obama's (sort of like how they did with the Cosby's).

But despite being model citizens, when no scandals could be found, they were invented. Birtherism was the most effective dog whistle for pent up racism, and a sociopath manipulator seized it and ran. Facts became irrelevant when feelings were what mattered to the angry mob. The problem is now worse than ever. Racists are emboldened. They March with torches. They imprison brown skinned children.

The racism issue still needs to be confronted. It won't go away by wishful thinking.

Many still don't.
Trump deliberately changed policy to jail as many children as possible and his approval rating continued to climb.
Trump suspended training of the American troops helping protect the free world from that N. Korean tyrant without anything of substance in return and his approval ratings didn't sink.
Trump worked to lift economic sanctions on Russia and his supporters remain steadfast.
Some people did listen and chose Trump. Some people actually claimed Democrats and Republicans are the same and didn't vote.

putin compromised him to use as a weapon against us and others , and now immigrants and children . He's also compromised top gop , and others in their party to be used as weapons against us, our government, and have corrupted others, and putin is doing this around the world very much like is being done here, which shows this was a more detailed and designed plan from putin and others. Trump is a terrorist promoting propaganda , and using his powers to compromise this government, and now talking reorganization, which means for easier use to destroy or weaponize it for use against us. These children being intentionally hurt by trump is just the tip of the ice burg what he will do to us. We're are also seeing the greatest transfer of wealth to a few than ever before , and the greatest destruction of health care, the environment , rights , and freedoms, and the truth, and justice this country has ever seen before. We're watching them corrupt and take over our Democracy in real time, again the opposite of everything he claimed. They are using psychologically tested language to get supporters with using the same phrases they've used elsewhere, and for absolute power and control , if they aren't stopped soon.

who would invariably declare that not even Bernie's strong support for Hillary was enough to convince them to vote for Clinton. The most they might magnanimously agree to do was to waste their vote on Jill Stein.

MSNBC's self proclaimed "road warriors" rarely interviewed one of the thousands of Clinton delegates or Sanders supporters who were going to follow his advice and be voting for Clinton against Trump. That would be, you know, truthful reporting. It just wouldn't be exciting enough for these giants of journalism.

are "journalists". They refused to cover the Democratic Party's platform and message, opting instead to focus on the "scandalous" email story. Then, after the Trump was elected, they blamed the "message-less democrats".

Here's what Digby had to say about the situation last week.

The media have done no serious introspection on [a cabal of FBI agents in the New York office loyal to Rudy Giuliani apparently hectoring their bosses, leaking to the press and urging former agents to go on television to put the Department of Justice and the FBI under pressure to act harshly against Hillary Clinton, even when if was outside the norms, rules and laws of the department], and the dynamic continues to this day. There's a lot of critical coverage of Trump, but reporters will leap at any chance to "balance the scales," no matter how ludicrous. We have seen that once again this past week as the GOP handed the media the Strzok text as if they'd just just found the Ark of the Covenant.

The Republicans will be happy to spoon feed the press buckets of "oppo" to fill journalists' desire to be even-handed as soon as the next presidential campaign begins. The end result will be just as much a distortion of the facts as this inane narrative that poor Donald Trump was the victim of an FBI plot to deny him the presidency when the truth is that he won the election at least in part because the FBI sabotaged his opponent.
