That sums up my beliefs in a nutshell. It's sad - and very telling - that the vast majority of supposed "family values" republicans, and self-described "christian" Americans fall into that latter grouping. I doubt many of them would help someone in their own family if they were down on their luck and needed a hand up, and not a handout. They're mostly selfish bastards who take the "I got mine. You get your own" attitude. Of course these people never give a passing thought to how much they've been helped getting where they are today. They were either born into a comfortable situation, or were given many opportunities along the way. Selfish, greedy pieces of dung.

Are they charging parents with child smuggling ?

Just as there is white privilege, there is now American privilege. White people who have forgotten and take for granted how their families came here to make it in this country. They do not wake every day terrified of their surroundings, having to make the decision to leave in order to keep their families safe, knowing what horror it will be to get to safety. Only to find fresh horror awaiting them at tge border.

I feel the same way.
