The right wingers are tying to minimize the border situation

I had a coworker tell me today that the lost 1475 kids were the same ones we are saying were taken from their parents under Sessions policy since April Amanda Taub wrote this bs in the NYT. I had to show him the source of the original story, which was Senate testimony that the kids were missing since 2017.
Just a heads up, these people are trying to confuse the 2 different issues.

And, contrary to their usual lizard brain ways where simpler is better, you'll see a level of nuance and sophistication of thought, parsing of facts, and subtlety of interpretation that you would have thought impossible in such primitive thinkers.

It's like a freakin' miracle.

All it takes is a few minutes with one, I had a few with one this morning, to realize they cannot think clearly about anything. They do not want to understand policy, they want Fox to tell them what to think it is easier for them.

I was in the shower -- I overheard two older women talking about "the children" -- I couldn't hear what the first one said but the second one said "Well, it's too bad, but if they want to come here, let them do it legally!" I wanted to tell her how would she like living in a country where you were scared for your life and the life of your family -- would you apply for citizenship at the consulate that's probably 100 miles away from where you live and be willing to wait a whole year or however long it takes to hear back from them? Why are these Republicans so hard hearted? Why are they so against letting some persecuted women, dads, and children in to live here? Sure, turn the criminals away. But why can't we open our hearts to the other ones in the meantime?

To Republicans the world is always black & white, right vs wrong, good or bad. There’s no room for nuance. It’s why they love trump. He’s to the point and doesn’t think about things in a nuanced way.

repubs get instantly stupid when confronted w the awful things they do? Then the other shoe drops and they need to have everything explained to them from the absolute bottom of the idea. I saw someone say once..."Just bc you're stupid or don't understand what I'm saying, doesn't mean I'm wrong." The "playing stupid" thing is meant to exhaust you. It's meant to give them
1. All the info on OUR point of view. and
2. A chance to micro analyze (if they can) your argument and see if there's a toehold they can argue about with them.
Lazy debate. And like I say, exhausting. No ones ever going to convert anymore unless they are directly impacted negatively. Good that we out number them.
We need fair voting counts. Honest counts.
be ready in the fall for thuggery at the polling places. The court decision to allow clothing w political messages at polling sites is just the beginning.
PS...why talk politics at work...It poisons a place most people hate to go to to begin with. TOO much politics these days. Used to be tv had a variety of stuff to talk about.

The GOP can see this and they are now in desperate free-fall. There is no amount of obfuscation that can overcome the tapes of screaming terrified kids, and the photos of empty high-chairs.
