Will somebody please tell me that's not what I understood them to say?

(82,849 posts)And while conservatives generally downplay most people's victimization, as long as the victim has the right characteristics and the perpetrator can be made into some dark monster, they can lionize a victim or a survivor. Particularly if those people have drawn the right conclusion about why they're a victim.

(90,347 posts)... America as an institution?
I'm sure Red Don has some sycophants on the inside of the Mueller investigation he's working with and knows at a general level of what's happening.
Just thinking something big is going to come on the Mueller investigation soon or something already has and he's reacting to it.

... The mass influx of murderers and rapists that Trump talks about, the wave of crime committed by immigrants here (and, in his mind, refugees in Germany), are things that simply arent happening. Theyre just sick fantasies being used to justify real atrocities.
And you know what this reminds me of? The history of anti-Semitism, a tale of prejudice fueled by myths and hoaxes that ended in genocide.
...
True, if we look across America there is a correlation between violent crime and the prevalence of undocumented immigrants a negative correlation. That is, places with a lot of immigrants, legal and undocumented, tend to have exceptionally low crime rates. The poster child for this tale of un-carnage is the biggest city of them all: New York, where more than a third of the population is foreign-born, probably including around half a million undocumented immigrants and crime has fallen to levels not seen since the 1950s.
...
In any case, the important thing to understand is that the atrocities our nation is now committing at the border dont represent an overreaction or poorly implemented response to some actual problem that needs solving. There is no immigration crisis; there is no crisis of immigrant crime.
No, the real crisis is an upsurge in hatred unreasoning hatred that bears no relationship to anything the victims have done. And anyone making excuses for that hatred who tries, for example, to turn it into a both sides story is, in effect, an apologist for crimes against humanity.

(41,986 posts)He cares not one bit for these families. As is everyone and everything, they are objects to be used for his own gain. We are ALL objects. Excluding no one. Not family. Not friends. Not America. This is my professional opinion as a mental health counselor. He is a classic narcissist. I used to be shy about diagnosing en absentia. Not with him. No more. He is dangerous to everyone.
