I would have served Sarah Huckabee Sander and donated her money to the Democratic Congressman Campaign Commitee.

Politics
Prior to the 2008 presidential election, Cryer attended a fundraiser hosted by the McCain campaign and, according to news reports, endorsed Senator John McCain.[39][40] When Cryer did not make a public endorsement for the 2012 race, his spokeswoman said that the 2008 report aligning him with the Republican Party was a "mistake" and that Cryer is "not really political." He had attended events for both Republicans and Democrats "because he wanted to hear what both sides had to say."
With regards to presumptive 2016 GOP nominee Donald Trump, Cryer shared his feelings on the May 5, 2016, episode of the podcast Never Not Funny. Cryer stated, "I have been pointing out, and I have been screaming to the rooftops, that Donald Trump is the Charlie Sheen of politics. [...] I have to tell you, I love Charlie Sheen, I loved working with him when he was sober, but he was, he's full of shit. He has been full of shit, you know, he has serious addiction. You know, his addiction is obviously serious, drugs, and, but, Trump is just addicted to feeling important. You know, and I think if anybody is under the delusion that he cares about, uh, uh, anybody in America besides himself, they are, they are stoned and need to rethink their priorities, 'cause he's, you know, 'cause it's just ridiculous that's he's gotten as far as he has."

(8,445 posts)Thanks! I enjoyed reading about him. I'm fine with the fact that some famous people use their platforms to promote their views, and at the same time, I'm fine if they choose to keep them private. I appreciate his assessment of -45.

(4,670 posts)His money would have been good too. I guess we all draw the line according to our individual values. I love what the restaurant owner did.

(14 posts)If you don't travel much, I guess you can find buying gift cards out of state a little intimidating, but it doesn't need to be. You just call them and they'll send it to you. Easy peasy.
Thanks for the welcome!

(9,736 posts)They drive from Arlington, VA, to Chattanooga, TN, a couple of times a year to visit their parents, and they always take I-81. Looks like it passes very close to Lexington, so my plan could work. I'd just like to support the courageous restaurant owners.

(17,485 posts)I was working DC gigs out of Waynesboro, so I know that drive to DC all too well. Lexington would be a good place for a break in their trip, especially on the way north. Here is the web site for hours and address: https://redhenlex.com/ if you haven't already got the url..

(17,865 posts)but I would serve her, and I would also tell her why I thought what she was doing was immoral and destroying the country. I would ask her how could she, as a Christian, continue to lie and facilitate the lies of others. I would keep doing that for the entire meal, and, if she tried to skip without paying, then I would call the cops. No shouting, no swearing.
I guess I could also ask her to pay in advance since I know her boss has a bad habit of not honoring contracts and not paying the little people because they could not fight back.
Rorey
(8,445 posts)I probably would have served her. I'd throw all of her overused phrases at her with every interaction, and every other word would be "ah". And I'd make sure that she wondered if there were "bonus ingredients" in her food and drink. It wouldn't be a comfortable meal for her.
