https://www.politico.com/story/2018/06/25/cameron-quinn-homeland-security-job-stress-670360The appointed official who oversees the Department of Homeland Security office handling complaints and concerns from migrant parents separated from their kids left a previous job as a county elections official because it was too stressful.
Cameron Quinn, who was appointed by President Donald Trump in September as DHS Officer for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, asked not to be reappointed in 2015 to her job running the board of elections in Fairfax County, Virginia, because of her health.
I have recognized that, given the health challenges that have manifested since I began this job, it is not prudent to intentionally go through such stress as is engendered by a presidential election year, Quinn wrote to the county, according to a story the Washington Post published at the time.
The Post had reported in 2014 that Quinns four years overseeing the office were marked by infighting and high staff turnover.
