Voter registration and intimidation.

I made a quick stop by a public place earlier and noticed a voter registration table setup. The woman at the table was Black. I also noticed two White tea party looking types standing a few feet from the table. Voter registration will be critical for November and beyond, I expect to see what I saw earlier, conservatives and tea party trying to intimidate people into not registering. Every person that is eligible to vote that they intimidate into not registering is a win for them, we can't let that happen.

To her credit, the woman at the registration table looked calm and determined. I am sure that with those assholes nearby, she will do everything by the book.

2. 38 states now allow on-line registration where one does not have to put up with that junk.

Glad the lady stuck it out. On-line won't get everyone, but it is an option for many. You can also quickly check your registration to determine if there is anything that might cause a problem on election day. I live in a red state, but registration is easy. Voting is simple too. You can order a ballot by mail and submit it by mail. They have a couple of weeks of early voting too. There is just no reason to wait until the last day to vote when impediments might come up.

3. My view is the people that current registration is trying to reach won't register online.

The physical effort to find them and sign them up must be exerted. The DNC seems to have arrived at that conclusion, hence funds for getting the type of citizen that I mentioned registered, there will also need to be an effort to get them to vote.

I live in Florida, a red-purple state. Republicans have tried everything to keep down the numbers of some types of potential voters. But Florida is also a state with lots of retirees that want convenience, so people can register at the DMV, and at libraries, and at the county registrars' offices. Florida also absentee voting and early voting from the 18th of October until the Friday before Election Day, and early voting is from 8am to 8pm all those days, so like you said, there is absolutely NO reason for a person to wait for Election Day, when anything can happen from weather events to equipment failures.

their parents, parents can encourage their kids, etc. If the DNC has determined this isn't worth it, they are wrong. I don't think you have to set a table out at a mall where white wingers hang out.
