I've heard of Mona Charen...

But I haven't heard of anything she's done, bad or good.

Her remarks in this article though, make me think she's a total scumbag.

MSNBC guest blames feminism for ‘so-called rape culture’: ‘They were cheerleaders for all of that’

Charen began the interview by acknowledging that women should have the same rights as men, but added, “Feminism took some wrong turns by endorsing, first of all, the sexual revolution.”

“Have we had enough of crotch grabbers and penis tweeters in this society?” the author asked. “Because all of that is what the sexual revolution has gifted to us. That, the so-called rape culture on campuses, the hookup culture, the hostility between men and women.”

“Feminism has to take some responsibility because they were cheerleaders for all of that,” she insisted. “They thought it was part of women’s liberation to endorse that.”

I'd venture to guess that none of us remember any such thing. You don't. I don't. And i'm certain it's not just you and me.

On Edit: I would suggest that the rise of that culture was more launched with the rise of the right in the 80's and the Contract on America in the 90's. But, Charon isn't going to blame her boys Ronnie and Newt for any of that.

. . .before the right started using women bomb throwers to do that job. She was the launching pad for Coulter, Ingraham, Malkin and that ilk.

She is still really big on the "what about Hillary, though" thing even though she's anti-PINO. Thing is, being against that charlatan is so easy, it doesn't begin to make up for the damage she's done in her anti-everything except big business crusade.

She and Mika really wanted to let young women know:

But don't forget about having children and a family because that's what will make you happy.

And then another pundit (On Sirius so couldn't 'see' them) weighed in that Feminism made it AOK for women to NOT have children.

And - she talked about how 'marriage is not accessible to working class women'(Charen).

Um- I won't be buying her book.

I think she rose to "fame" during the Reagan years.

And, without feminism, I think there would still be plenty of incidents of campus rape, but it would be hushed up by campus police or the woman would be afraid to report, or would be shamed if she did report it.

Knew I was familiar with that name.

Yeah - I won't be giving my money to that. She got booed out of CPAC this year so now she's trying to find an audience among reasonable women.

Yeah - not buying it. I don't believe women OR men should get married and have kids because if they don't they might regret NOT doing so.

Too many broken marriages and homes come out of that 'you are supposed to' mindset.

They totally ignored the fact that no one ever asked and still never asks men to balance family life and work. That's why we marched, took risks at work, and generally demanded equality during our "revolution." By the way, the revolution hasn't ened, Mona.

And NOTHING a woman ever says or does is an invitation to. Cat called, groped, or raped.

one of her columns back in the day waxed poetic on Reagan's barefoot toes. Personally, I think she is nuts.
