That's meme msm has been pushing sense forever. However upon closer examination that looks like revisionist history to me. Republicans were the opposition party there is nothing special or unique about an opposition party opposing the party in power. Truth be told if it weren't for Democratic leaderships opposition to it in the Senate Roosevelt probably would've succeeded. With everything that's happening now I kind of wonder if maybe we would be better of as a nation if Roosevelt would've had his way.
