What should we do first?

I’m purposely ignoring today’s news. It has affected me physically, mentally and emotionally. So, why deal with the horror any further? Instead, I’ve decided to ponder what path Democrats should follow when (Yes, optimism is a choice that must be accompanied by dedication to registering, voting, phonebanking, donating, contacting legislators
and marching. I know.) we regain power.

Here’s a list of legislation I think must be enacted. It is robust to say the least. It’s presented in no particular order of importance although listing them in that way would be food for thought as well.


Voting Rights Act (gerrymandering and registration)
Single Payer Healthcare
Tax Reform
Immigration Reform
Campaign Finance Reform
Fairness Doctrine
Add 3 SC judges

I realize the last one is a nuclear option. I don’t care. Republicans blocked Garland. They can eat this.
