Dem. Senator BLUMENTHAL: The Senate should do nothing to artificially delay consideration of next justice, but POTUS should take his time & make a centrist choice.
It's frustrating because I don't think there's anything we can do legally.

Before the elections could cause rabid Trump loyalist Republicans to sit back now that have everything they wanted and not show up to vote, sane Conservatives might show up and vote Democratic as either a protest vote or to protect their finances and property rights from wealthier loyalists with better political connections, and Democrats and Independents would vote Democratic because any resemblance of their accustomed way of life is dependent on it?
It is extremely difficult to put any positive spin on this.
