(4,483 posts)I never thought I could feel any worse about things. I am truly in despair. I've been avoiding cable news and checked in here today expecting things to be pretty much as they have been, but dear sweet jesus. I'm at the end of my rope. I'm paralyzed.

(4,483 posts)How can this be allowed to stand? I stopped watching cable news to avoid despair, and now this. My husband records the World Cup and then we watch it with the sound off while I read to him from the New Yorker. We have been insulated, cradled in civilization and thoughtful discourse, while all this was transpiring. It's like waking from a nightmare into a worse nightmare. I can't even cry.

If Mueller has anything that will bring trump down, now is the time to issue a report.

(6,535 posts)I don't have any hope that Mueller or anyone else will put the brakes on the creeping fascism unless there are any "principled Republicans" left to take up the fight and try to salvage whatever is left of America. Not that I'm not keenly anticipating some kind of findings coming from the special counsel, but even if they can prove the worst of crimes, if the Republicans are still in control at all, they won't take any action...hell, why would they, when they can finally push through their fucked up agenda to finish transferring all wealth into the pockets of the already rich?

(86,005 posts)...that HHS's neglecting to answer question of whether families were still being separated meant they probably are.
