Maybe we all could close our eyes, wish real hard, and click our heels together

to prevent Trump from nominating an arch-conservative to be the next SCOTUS justice. That would work about as well as the non-starter, unconstitutional ideas I'm reading today on DU. Here are some of ideas that actually might have a chance:

1. Call and organize calls to every Senator and tell them not to vote on the nomination at this time. Get as many people as possible to do this. Call even Republican Senators, especially ones who have to run in 2018.

2. Get involved NOW with your local Democratic Party organization and sign up as a volunteer for GOTV work prior to the 2018 November election. Then, follow through and work as hard as you can to get out the Democratic vote in November. Taking control of Congress back is really our only hope.

3. Donate to, work for, and spread the word about every Democratic candidate on the ballot. If your districts are already sure winners by a Democrat, work on nearby districts. Look for close races in other areas and donate what you can to the Democratic candidate.

Don't just wish for miracles. Make something happen, instead!

a shared idea of what the prize is.

The Civil rights movement knew what the prize was. I wish we could get as motivated today as we did in the 60's.
