What if: The nominee or nominees to the Supreme Court were to have a change of heart and

decide they really don't want to be involved with this circus. I mean between the hearings and fighting over this appointment, many may decide they just want no part of it. What a justified slap in the face that would be. Hoping...

Part of the vetting process is to gauge their ability to deal with the media coverage. Besides, barring some nutcase pedo like Roy Moore getting nominated, they will likely sail right through the hearings and confirmation.

today (only on SCOTUS issue), after putting things in perspective.

At the risk of sounding tactless, people die. Sometimes randomly, but other times, due to advanced age, etc. The justices are getting up there in age. Assuming fair elections are still somewhat possible in this country, a democratic president will hopefully appoint 2 or more justices, and the RW won't have the stacked court they're "praying" for (and sold their souls for).

Not only that, but sometimes a justice can go rogue. Kennedy, for example, was appointed by Reagan. But he ended up being a swing vote in many cases. So, you just never know. We'll see.
