Since we are now a people that forces unaccompanied children to stand in court for the 'crimes' of their parents, I propose making that policy an across-the-board standard for all.Drunk driving?
Insider trading?
Littering?
Unpaid tickets?
The WHOLE family is incarcerated, separated and forced to navigate the U.S. legal system just like these babies.
There.
Equal protection under the law.

(34,075 posts)Manner of entrance (at an official crossing point) is separate from purpose for entering (seeking asylum).
Even when you are seeking asylum, it is a (criminal) misdemeanor to cross between crossing points.

(34,075 posts)drunk driving, insider trading, litering, or unpaid tickets, it is not analagous.
To the extent they crossed between official crossing points, every single member of the family committed the same crime. In your proposal, only one member of the family committed a crime.
