(90,787 posts)Frankly, I think any leader that displays anything more than perfunctory civility toward Trump has debased themselves. No pomp - No circumstance needed. Not even a nod - as nods are reserved for equals.
Any population that is protesting Trump is showing more sense than the so-called leaders who flatter that piece of shit.

(12,679 posts)Look, I may be a systems engineer, but damn it, I took graphic design as an elective and my mom taught me how to sew and generally tailor thrift store clothes from a very early age.
My two high-society great-great aunts taught me to embroider, bead, and make my own lace (Battenberg, pillow/needle, tatted, and crochet) by hand by the age of 7 while they would help babysit me and my brother on occasion.
I've designed and built detailed wedding dresses and medieval costumes for people of all sizes that ended up looking looked like they came out of paintings and magazines - down to the critical undergarments. (Without proper undergarments, a good professional or fancy dress can end up looking like it was made for a Barbie, not for a real person).
They're supposedly rich New Yorkers. But they all look like they dress off the rack.
They couldn't find a seamstress in either the Fashion or Theatre districts who would be willing to dress Melania and Ivanka to look properly and naturally put together on the cheap?
Even Great Aunt Alma "knew a couple girls" who could be called upon to manage her New York wardrobe over the years when she was Back East, and she was just considered Middlin' Society (married to a minor retail executive in the Midwest who ended up being a VP for J.C. Penney's back in the 1950's/60's).
