Does he say this is outrageous?
Does he say this is totally unacceptable?
Does he say there will be consequences?
Does he say we will retaliate with sanctions?
Does he say we need to protect our democracy and the rule of law?
Does he say we will bring the offenders to justice?
Does he say I will hold Putin accountable?
Nahhhh......I'll bring it up with my old buddy Putin when I see him in private. But most of all, see, this indictment totally exonerates me.
Our country was attacked and your first reaction is how you can spin it to your favor? How this shows you didn't know nuthin' 'bout nuthin'. This is not how innocent people react. This is not how the President who is charged with defending the nation is supposed to react. Then again, Trump is neither innocent nor is he defending our nation. Could this stable genius be any more transparent?

(1,896 posts)Regardless of party. They didn't just attack democrats, they attacked our country. And all Trump can see is how it impacts him. Or more accurately, how he can use this to try to cover his tracks. The Republicans are revealing their complicity by not screaming with outrage.

And where are the Republicans in Congress? They have the same Ostrich syndrome, too! "Hey whatever our traitorous Leader says or does is AOK with us! We'll enable any kind of high crime as long as we get to stay in power!"

(2,419 posts)just go to the simplistic explanations to see what is happening. It's all right in front of us. Trump's reaction to this indictment reveals his guilt. Any normal person would have reacted as you suggest. Any innocent person would have responded in the manner you proposed. It doesn't take a great deal of deep analysis to see, and in fact takes a great deal of bias to ignore, the plain meaning of Trump's response. He's telling us he's guilty.
Just go back to the origins of this story. Option A- Lifelong law enforcement officers with stellar records of service all get together to violate their oaths and hatch a secret plot to get Trump. Option B- Trump, a shady, three times married, four times bankrupt, deadbeat. A lifelong con man and all around scumbag who only cares about himself pulls off a sketchy deal with the Russians to promote his interests. Which story is more likely?
