Republicans like to think the economy really sucked under Obama and did not begin to grow until Donald Trump took office. Of course, we know that after the "Great Recession" in 2009, the country experienced 8 years of growth and recovery under Barack Obama.
There is no doubt but that Donald Trump inherited a pretty good economy. But, he was able to unleash the beasts of capitalism, with massive tax cuts and by cutting all kinds of regulations, and the stock market went into a frenzy with all the new capital and freedom to screw America any which way they chose.
But, how long will it last? The steady, slow, predictable growth of the Obama years is gone. Inflation is already beginning in some areas, such as the energy sector. How long can we continue with the present economy? How ugly will it be when it corrects course?
