Surely Trump realises that doing all of this will eventually end up destroying him and his family

So my question is this....

1 : Either he has no intention of ever leaving office, so none of this gets undone, in which case everybody better be prepared to fight tooth and nail to remove the creep and destroy the GOP.

2 : Dems win house or Senate in the fall, stop him in his tracks and start investigating him up the wazoo making it so painful he runs from office so Pence can try and pardon him however he is going to end up in jail eventually with that scenario.

Which is more likely because I am getting completely unsure we are ever going to undo this without a citizens uprising.

If I had my way, the GOP would be investigated top to bottom and if need be proscribe them as a treasonous organization.....

This election will decide whether we have to rise up because if this fall does not happen or is rigged again, you better be ready for insurrection.

He's had a special type of privilege all his life due to his father's money and associates. He's never had to be self-aware or self-critical. The world he lives in is very, very small and select, because Daddy's money kept him going and Daddy's associates had a use in keeping him comfortable because he's so adept at reading a script and playing a part.

He thinks he's part of the ruling elite, so it doesn't really matter to him. He has never shown he's ever had any concern or any thought of anything further out than his next glitterati event.

Srsly, I doubt that Cheeto Benito has the cognitive ability to string together a cause and effect. Even if he does, I don't believe he GAF.

he has never in his entire life faced consequences for any action he has taken.

Add to that, he doesn't seem particularly bright or aware of anything beyond himself.

It would never even occur to him that he could face any sort of consequence beyond having to pay some money (which he could then write off on his taxes). So, no, he doesn't realize this could affect him at some point.

I'm willing to bet he'll be just fine if his kids go to prison, that gives him another excuse to pretend to be a victim.

He has full protection from the SCOTUS and Congress. There is no way to remove him without force.

I would think it's hard for him to change at 72 years old. In his eyes, why change, he's gotten all the way to the presidency.

However, he's not dealing with small and mid sized local businesses and contractors anymore.

The Con wanted his position of power and he got it, but he can never return to the life he had before, and neither can his family.

Assuming the Con is not in jail:
If he retains Secret Service protection, there will be an entourage following them wherever they go...never a private moment, never the opportunity to just jump into a private car and drive off, never dine alone, never spend a day shopping, never a moment of privacy. If he dismisses the SS when leaving office, it will be necessary to beef up his private security to numbers "like no one has ever seen before" (to use his phrasing), which again will destroy his privacy and cost him dearly. They'll never be safe without this level of security.

His WH "service and reputation" will follow them everywhere. They'll be hounded at every turn, every day. They'll go through life looking over their shoulders.
