In the last twenty years or so, they seem to have just become the Asshole Party, reflexively taking whatever position seems likely to make Democrats/liberals angry. There's no coherent political philosophy there-- just a dickish need to provoke and insult.

For that matter, until the last few months, it was thought that Eric Cantor also had one of those districts...but now there's a fair chance Cantor may lose...and that's more of a chance than any previous challenger to Cantor has had and more of a chance than any challenger his GOP predecessor ever faced had.

Lesson: If you're a big enough dickhead, you can even lose a district gerrymandered to favor your party by a 20% margin.

Allen West sent the CBC fried chicken sandwiches and biscuits when it was his turn to provide lunch. Clearly, watermelons were out of season. He then left the meeting he was supposed to provide "a nice lunch" for with a smug grin on his asshole face...and hasn't come to another CBC meeting since.

If you need it clearer...Allen West is a smug racist and a smug asshole.
