(10,839 posts)Read your article. You make solid, cogent points about the need to be strategic in this election and beyond. Doesn't mean abandoning principle but it does mean being rational in our choices. Beto O'Rourke (who is kicking ass in Texas) is a perfect example of cutting off your nose to spite your face with the purity criteria of the Abolish Ice Movement.
O'Rourke is a damn good candidate who is running a competitive race against a viper, and from what I've read he's been very vocal and active regarding the immigration debacle. He deserves our support rather than hurling pot shots because he doesn't sufficiently tick off every progressive box.
Good intentions really can lead to Hell. We must win in November to turn the Ship of State around. Anything making that harder is a minus, not a plus.
