That of it was leaked with the purpose of reducing Cohen's value to the prosecutors. It's a fail. Cohen can still cut a deal with prosecution because they would need an actual witness to put on the stand who can make all of that concrete.

None of what has been leaked is illegal, its just damaging in the court of public opinion (to any normal person). They may think this is that serious that this is more about keeping DT out of jail or just having his presidency survive. I imagine what they think Cohen knows could be way worse and that he may just fall on the sword if he cant get a deal from Mueller.
