As clearly explained on Maddow tonight, Cohen's willingness to testify is critical to prosecutors, so he still has something to offer. Prosecutors can't use an anonymously sourced news report.

And this information is devastating to Trump.

Cohen would still be very valuable and his evidentiary testimony is still needed. It makes little difference that this has leaked. The reporters pushing this are thinking of this as scoops that lose their value once info has gone public.

Neither do the people on Twitter or even Giuliani. Only Cohen and his attorneys know that information.

Personally, I'm not letting others set the narrative for me when there's too many variables to make any conclusion.

So it certainly could be something Donnie and ghouliani thought up.

It allowed Giuliani to both set up the scene, and then beat Cohen up in one evening.

There will be corroborating evidence. Both dump Jr and his dad lied and conspired.

But Giuliani took the opportunity to roll the dice and beat up Cohen in the court of public opinion. Cohen can and will testify, but his chance of cutting a deal is losing ground (according to prosecutors on NBC).

Don't know if you are right and tonight is another case of it, plus tanking Cohen as an asset to Mueller. Could be. Might not. We don't have enough information. I guess the purpose of Giulliani cleaning up Trump lies are so that when Mueller does file publicly much of it will seem like old news.

No amount of smearing Cohen on cable TV is going to diminish his usefulness as a cooperating witness *enough* for a) US Att for SDNY to not want his cooperation, b) Mueller to not want his cooperation, c) AG for State of NY to not want his cooperation. But it does irrevocably burn the Trump-Cohen bridge via betrayal of silences, and publicly implicate Cohen in federal and state (which Trump/Pence/other-POTUS can't pardon) crimes.

Rudy f-ed up bigly. He is driving Cohen towards making a deal, not driving prosecutors away from making one.
