I now understand why republicans cannot stand Romney. Up until now I've paid little

or no attention to the man, he has not been on my radar for any reason. For the last few days I've seen his ads, watched him speechify and then again this morning, while Brokaw & Co. were kissing his ass, come forth with such phoniness and "I'm above the fray" elitism, I almost lost my breakfast. Newt is right. Romney is a liar, he's been caught in one lie after the other, and for some reason or other, the MSM neglects to call him on it. He'll probably win Iowa, but the inner-child in me wants him to lose just to knock him off his high horse.

I'm wondering if those negative ads he had running against Newt will backfire. The audience that was not democratic at Java Joe's this morning can surely see right through him. I now see the repubs point. He is phony and fake in every way. He has never once mentioned how he would create jobs, what he would do for the middle-class and poor. He speaks about whatever is popular at the moment but is still a distraction from the real issues and concerns of the voting public. If Newt should pull this off (I strongly doubt he can get Iowa, but SC is a "maybe) I would actually be happy for a repub contender.

1. What would he do for the middle/working/poor?

Likely the same thing that he facilitated when he worked at Bain - give the CEOs carte blanche to fire at will.

Anyone who lives paycheck to paycheck but supports Romney needs their head examined.

and considered some sort of powerful person if they stick with a "winner." He's a dangerous guy in his oily slick way.

Says anything to get elected, and has no backbone.

The real elites (yes Romney's wealthy, but he's no power broker) can manipulate a man with those characteristics easily.

doubt, was far more powerful within that cabal. They hate Romney and are now in a dilemna. Great stuff to watch.

5. Romney has been underexposed due to all the "frontrunners"

Once he gets the nomination, he will not wear well when seen constantly.
His phoney schtick and his ridiculous, fact-free attacks on Obama will get
very tiresome very fast.

Iowa caucus goers are staunch conservatives and there is a very active Evangelical base that shows
up for the caucuses.

These are the people who would wade through a snow storm to caucus for the person that they support. They
turn out in high numbers. These people are the reason why Huckabee won the last Iowa caucuses. These
people HATE Mitt Romney. They think he is a liberal.

The recent surge of Santorum has given this Evangelical contingent a reason to caucus. Before, the vote
was split between Bachman, Gingrich, Perry and Santorum. Now that there's an emerging Evangelical
frontrunner--this will incite even more of them to vote for him.

I think Santorum will probably win. Ron Paul will garner around a quarter of the vote, most likely. His
supporters are very fervent and loyal. Romney's supporters are pretty lukewarm on him. You rarely
meet a Romney supporter who is hung ho. Most are just falling in line. This could lead to a lower turnout
for Romney supporters--as they lack enthusiasm.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I do see Santorum winning, Paul coming in second and Romney placing third.

He never says anything that hasn't been focus group tested down to the last punctuation mark.

He's the candidate that the animation lab at Walt Disney Studios would create if they were asked to do so.

We were Romney's stepping stone. He lied through his teeth to get elected Governor here. And he was helped by the fact that his Dem opponent was weak and ran a bad campaign. But the repukes would never listen to us anyway.
