What if Schumer can get 2 GOP senators to switch parties NOW? And they

Caucus with democrats. Would a new vote for Senate majority leader happen immediately? Could we see McConnel tossed out and then Schumer could freeze the Supreme Court nomination until after the election? Senate rules are extremely vague on this. This would be awesome.

McConnell would become minority leader. Yes, Schumer could shut down any and all judicial nominees using the McConnell Rule.

...2) It would be a Devil's bargain and Democrats would need to bend over backwards and change everything they stand for to please whoever the defector was and that would drive down engagement and voting from our base, which is the last thing we need.

It would be long-term losses for minor short term gain.

would maintain senority and if they are "moderates" the DNC would support them in next re-election bid. I was wondering how a new vote would be held part way thru a congressional term. What if both Corker and Flake do this? Would that be a hoot? Way to stop trump dead in the tracks
