Seems to me they are creating martyrs. Martyrs can be very valuable things to lunatic groups.

I guess that could be it. So far I can't see any benefit for them. Al Queda has been the most successful terrorist group in our national history. Since most them are dead damned if I can see it.

They want a race war. They want urban warfare. They want to murder their perceived enemies at will and without any consequences. And everyone who isn't cookie cutter replicas of them is considered their enemy.
