The "swamp" really has two meanings doesn't it?
For us it means the private interest corporate influence rather than "we the people" interests.
For Trumpers it means "liberals, Democrats, etc" that must be purged.

In reality, swamps, i.e. wetlands, actually serve valuable ecological purposes.

They provide habitat for wildlife and help to filter surface water and cut down on erosion.
So it makes sense that Trump wants to destroy things that actually serve a good purpose, and somehow spin that as a positive.
